Garbh Bheinn – 1st May

Was camping at Caolasnacon for the six day trials and as it was so windy (difficult to kayak),  decided to nip up here with Jock and Alastair.  Went up the glen on the South nearly to the Bealach, along a well defined quad track used by the Stalkers.  From here you can turn right and up onto Meall Dearg, one of the Munros on the Aonach Eagach, or head left up onto the ridge of Garbh Bheinn. A steep pull up onto the ridge, but still preferable than ascending all the way via the west ridge I think.

Winks on the ridge - a little excited!JOck and Rona on the ridge

It was a short scramble down and then up to the summit

JOck and Dotty on the summit - it was very windy

From the summit we just headed straight down the west ridge back to the starting point.
