Rhyolite Romp

Finally after 10 years I finally find someone willing to accompany me on this scramble. It has not had great reviews, but the position looks spectacular.
We headed up dinner time buttress to where the best scrambling starts then headed left on a fairly decent ledge

We continued round until crossing the gully below Ossians cave.  This is the view back up.  The route goes to the big boulder in bottom right and out onto the ridge on the right of it (not in view)


We scrambled up the ridge and this is the view of Ossians cave showing it is not a cave…


From the top of the ridge it was a simple matter to skirt round to the top of dinner time buttress and descend



What a view!
