First Ultra Lite Munro

Beinn Teallach 914m

We had left this one and it needed to be done.  Today dawned bright and clear so we set off.  However decided to try out our new trainers and me to try out my legs.  We parked in the layby and headed off up the forest track then cut through onto the path by the river.  We discovered the first downside of ultralight – wet feet.  And the water was cold.  The river was low enough to cross on stones and we cut up to the top of the forest then headed up the hill.  We kept to the east side of the mountain as there was a bit of wind.  2 hours and 10 mins to the top which unfortunately was clouded in mist.  We followed the path down then cut to the top of the forest.

We then followed the green path alongside the river back to the car – we could have taken this on the way up which would have been a much nicer ascent (follow the green topped posts).  Total time 3.5 hours – not bad for an old girl.
